How to Create a QR Code
Creating a QR code takes less than a minute. This guide walks you through every step — from choosing the right type to downloading a file ready for print or digital use.
In This Guide
Step 1: Choose a QR Type
Open the FREE QR 360 generator and select the type of QR code you need. Common choices include:
- URL — links to any website
- Wi-Fi — lets guests connect to a network without typing a password
- vCard — shares your contact details
- WhatsApp — opens a WhatsApp chat with a pre-filled message
- Email — opens an email draft to your address
- Text — displays any plain text
If you want to change the QR destination later without reprinting, choose Dynamic QR — this requires a free account.
Step 2: Enter Your Content
Paste the full URL including https://. Example: https://yourwebsite.com/menu
Enter the network name (SSID), password and security type (WPA2 for most modern routers).
Fill in name, phone, email, company and website. Only the name is required.
Enter your country code and phone number. Optionally add a pre-filled message.
The live preview updates in real time as you type.
Step 3: Customize (Optional)
After entering your content, move to the Customize step:
- Dot color: Change the QR modules from black to your brand color.
- Background color: Change from white to any solid color.
- Corner color: Style the three finder squares independently.
- Dot style: Choose from Square, Rounded, Dots, Classy or Elegant.
- Logo: Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP logo (max 5 MB).
Step 4: Download
- PNG (2048×2048): Best for most uses — social media, digital screens, standard print.
- SVG (vector): Best for large-format printing — scalable to any size without loss of quality.
Both formats are free with no watermark.
Printing Tips
- Print at minimum 2 × 2 cm for close-range scanning (business cards, menus).
- Print at minimum 5 × 5 cm for wall posters or signage.
- Always test the printed QR code with at least two different phones before distributing.
- Include a short call to action near the code: "Scan to order" or "Scan for our menu".
- Use a white quiet zone (margin) of at least 4 modules on every side.
