How to Create an Event QR Code
An event QR code encodes a calendar invitation in iCal format. When scanned, the phone offers to add the event directly to the user's calendar — no links to follow, no forms to fill in.
What Is an Event QR Code?
An event QR code stores a calendar invitation in the iCalendar (iCal) format — the same standard used by Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook. When scanned, the phone prompts the user to add the event to their calendar app.
How to Create an Event QR Code
Select Event from the QR type picker on FREE QR 360.
Fill in the event name, start date and time, end date and time (optional), location and description (optional).
Brand your QR with event colors and a logo. A clean design builds trust with attendees.
Download and place on event invitations, posters, conference badges, or signage at the venue.
Fields You Can Include
- Event name: The title shown in the calendar app.
- Start date and time: Required. The QR generator encodes this in UTC format.
- End date and time: Optional but recommended.
- Location: Shown as the venue in the calendar app.
- Description: Additional notes, agenda items or a link to the event page.
Use Cases
- Conference badges: Attendees scan to add the full event schedule to their calendar.
- Wedding invitations: Add a QR to save-the-date cards.
- Workshop registrations: Printed on flyers so attendees can add the session immediately.
- Sports fixtures: Teams print match schedules with QR codes for each game.
- Trade shows: Add a QR to booth signage with a slot-booking event for product demos.
